BETTER LEADERS TOGETHER FOR ORGANISATIONS
Ongoing leadership development for your managers
Give your managers somewhere to go when leadership gets complicated.
So they don’t have to work everything out alone.
Better Leaders Together gives your managers ongoing access to practical leadership support, thoughtful challenge and a community of other people responsible for leading others.
Monthly live coaching - Leadership Q&A - Practical tools - A community that understands
Leadership is not one job. It is a thousand small moments.
The reality of leading people
Managers make decisions about people every day. Some are straightforward. Others follow them home. They may look calm and capable from the outside while privately wondering whether they handled something well, whether they should have said more, whether they stepped in too quickly or what on earth they should do next.
That’s the reality of leading real people.
And it’s why leadership development can’t only be about learning something once and then being expected to know what to do forever.
Better Leaders Together gives managers an ongoing place to think, reflect, ask questions and continue developing as those real situations happen.
What your managers receive

The chance to learn alongside other people who care about leading with clarity, kindness and accountability.
Clearer conversations
Managers can prepare for difficult discussions without rehearsing every possible outcome in their heads.
More perspective
They can step back from the emotion of a situation and consider what may actually be happening.

They can feel more confident about when to coach, challenge, set direction or simply listen.
Leadership that feels like you
They can continue growing without feeling they need to adopt a polished leadership persona that doesn’t feel natural or sustainable.

Who is Better Leaders Together for?
A space for people who care about leading well.
BLT is for managers and leaders who care about how they lead and want to keep developing.
It works for people who are relatively new to managing others and for those who have been leading for years.
This isn’t remedial support - it’s continuing development for the complicated, rewarding and sometimes exhausting business of leading other people.
Your managers will feel at home in Better Leaders Together if:
They genuinely care about how they lead.
They would benefit from ongoing development and support.
They sometimes need somewhere outside their immediate team to think things through.
This will be less suitable if:
They’re looking for rigid scripts, quick fixes or a way to control other people’s behaviour.
They’re looking for HR or legal advice.
About Better Leaders Together
I’m SHARON SMITH, the creator of Better Leaders Together.
I created BLT because I know what it feels like to lead, care deeply about doing a good job and still spend far too much time replaying conversations, second-guessing decisions and trying to keep everybody happy.
Looking back, I didn’t need somebody to rescue me or tell me exactly what to do.
I needed somewhere I could talk through the situations occupying too much of my brain, hear another perspective and work out what I wanted to do next.
That’s what Better Leaders Together provides.
I bring my experience of leading, coaching and developing leaders, alongside practical questions, tools and resources.
Members bring their own experience, curiosity and perspective.
The value doesn’t come from pretending one person has every answer - it comes from helping people think, learn and lead better together.
A few questions to help you decide if Better Leaders Together is something your organisation needs:
-
Better Leaders Together gives your managers ongoing access to leadership development, practical resources, live conversations and a community of other people responsible for leading others.
It gives them somewhere to think through real leadership situations as they happen, helping them develop their confidence, judgement and ability to lead people well without your organisation having to create all of that support internally.
-
Managers can bring many of the everyday situations that make leadership complicated, including preparing for difficult conversations, managing performance, setting expectations, dealing with conflict, communicating clearly, building confidence, managing boundaries, making decisions and navigating difficult team dynamics.
BLT gives them space to think, hear different perspectives and decide on an appropriate way forward.
-
Yes. Better Leaders Together is designed for managers and people leaders at different stages of their leadership journey.
A newer manager may be developing confidence and learning how to handle people issues for the first time. A more experienced manager may be dealing with greater complexity, looking for a fresh perspective or wanting space to reflect on established habits and approaches.
They do not need to be at exactly the same level to learn alongside one another.
-
Training and development programmes usually focus on particular knowledge, skills or approaches over a defined period. BLT provides ongoing access to learning, reflection and support as real leadership situations arise.
It can work alongside workshops, internal programmes, coaching or other leadership development, giving managers somewhere to continue thinking, applying what they have learned and asking questions as new situations emerge.
-
Managers often benefit from talking to other people who understand the realities of leading a team.
An online leadership community gives them access to perspectives beyond their own organisation, alongside regular opportunities to learn, reflect and think through leadership challenges.
For smaller organisations in particular, it can give managers access to a wider leadership network when there may only be a small number of managers within their own business.
-
BLT is designed to fit around the realities of a manager's working life rather than become another programme they have to complete.
Managers do not need to attend every live session or contribute to every conversation. They can use the sessions, resources and community in ways that are useful and realistic for them.
The value comes from having ongoing access to support and making use of it when it is relevant.
-
The aim is for the development to show up in how your managers lead day to day: how they communicate, approach difficult conversations, make decisions, set expectations, manage people and take ownership of their role.
The organisational relationship also creates opportunities to reflect on how BLT is supporting your managers and to consider any wider leadership development needs emerging across your organisation.
-
BLT is designed to give managers a trusted space to think, ask questions and learn with others.
Members are expected to protect the confidentiality of people, organisations and situations they discuss and to avoid sharing identifying information unnecessarily.
Any organisational conversations focus on overall engagement, themes and development value rather than reporting back what individual managers have said. Managers should also continue to follow their organisation's own policies and professional responsibilities.
Give your managers ongoing support for the moments when leadership gets complicated.
Sometimes they need somewhere to think, somewhere to ask, or somewhere to hear a different perspective.
Or they simply need a template they can use to help them complete a leadership task.
